Network & PC Support Specialist, full-time
We have a full-time opening for an individual to support, maintain and troubleshoot our computer and network operations. You would install new hardware, software, and upgrades as well as identify, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems with computers, printers and other computer and network equipment. Maintain the web site. Instruct library staff on computer services and systems operations.
Qualifications: A bachelors or associates degree in computer or management information science is needed. At least 2 years experience required in computer or network technical support. Need prior experience with Novell NetWare, GroupWise, UNIX/Linux, and Windows OS. You will need to be able to make effective decisions based on sound judgment and technical knowledge. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between branches. Must be able to crouch, squat, bend, twist, climb stairs, manipulate boxes and computer equipment, able to run cables under table and behind furniture and have manual dexterity for using tools for computer maintenance. Must have regular and predictable attendance as required.

Library Associate, Children’s, part-time
Description: Provide friendly, helpful information in the children’s department answering reference questions using print and electronic resources. Desk responsibilities include answering the telephone in the children’s department, program registration, providing directional information, sign up children on the Internet, reader’s advisory, and giving instruction on how to use online card catalog, databases, the Internet and other library equipment. Create, plan, promote, and conduct children’s story times, craft programs and participate in the planning of the summer reading program. Assist with school visits and community outreach programs.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Must have previous experience in planning and conducting children’s programs and storytimes. Prior experience working with children is necessary as well as having a strong knowledge of children’s literature. Must have experience using Word, Excel, graphics programs and the Internet. Must be able to give instruction on the online card catalog, the Internet, databases and library equipment. Bending, lifting, sitting, stooping, climbing, pushing of full book carts and carrying book crates required. Excellent verbal, listening, and written skills are necessary. Must have regular and predictable attendance.

Hours: 20 hours per week, includes days, evenings and weekends. Shifts are usually between 4 hours and 8 hours, up to 20 hours per week.
Library Associate-Circulation, part-time, 20 hours per week
Description: Provide excellent customer service while helping customers at the front desk. Circulation desk responsibilities include checking materials in and out, collecting overdue fines and lost material costs, assisting with reserve and hold materials, assisting customers with the copier, and explaining policies and procedures to customers. Other duties include emptying the bookdrop, inspecting and sorting returned materials and other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications: Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Must have experience using computers. Cash register experience helpful. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and handle confidential information. Must be able to hear, read, write, speak, and understand English effectively. Standing, bending, lifting, sitting, crouching, and pushing of book carts or carrying book crates required. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Page, part-time, 10 hours per week
Description: Our pages shelve library materials either by the Dewey Decimal system or alphabetically and evaluate the condition of the material before shelving it. Shelf read to make sure items are in the correct location. Maintain shelves by shifting materials so the shelves are not too tight while maintaining the filing system. Use the on-line card catalog computer to verify location of material. Exchange a full book cart for an empty book cart at the circulation desk. Answer directional questions from customers concerning the location of materials or library services such as copiers and restrooms.
Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age. Must be able to file quickly and accurately. The ability to work in a team environment and communicate with team members and the team leader is essential. Must be able to stand, bend, lift, stoop, crouch and push fully loaded book carts. Must have regular and predictable attendance as required.
